Traffic Stop on Highway 71

Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that on the afternoon of Thursday 5/28/26 Sgt. Ron Naumann initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle on Highway 71 near La Grange for multiple traffic and vehicle violations.
Upon making contact with the driver Sgt. Naumann found that the driver's license was also suspended and he appeared to be unusually nervous. The driver provided consent to a search of the vehicle and a glass smoking pipe was located along with several opened alcoholic beverage containers. A container holding a crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine was also located on the driver's person.
The driver, Roberto Zamora, age 32 of La Grange was arrested for the offense of Possession of Controlled Substance and was booked into the Dan R. Beck Justice center.
