Teamwork leads to Narcotics arrest
According to Schulenburg Police Department, on Monday, January 2nd at approximately 1:09am Officers conducted a traffic stop just south of the city on a 2002 Ford F-250 for a traffic violation.While speaking with the driver nultiple factors were observed leading officers to believe the driver was involved in criminal activity. Officers contacted a K9 Handler to come assist due to the driver denying consent to search the vehicle.
The dog then alerted to the odor of narcotics coming from the vehicle giving Officers probable cause to search the vehicle.
Approximately 4.9 grams of Methamphetamine and a handgun were found in the vehicle. Justin Palmer (40), of Fayetteville , who is convicted of a felon was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Unlawfully Carrying a Weapon with a Felony Conviction.
