One of Flatonia’s most successful football eras is coming to an end. After 13 years as AD/HFC, Coach Chris Freytag resigned Wednesday, saying it was time to move on and to explore some other opportunities. He plans to leave at the end of the semester. The Bulldogs football season (11-2) ended last Friday in the regional semi-finals. Coach Freytag’s overall record was 82-65, it included 8 straight trips to the playoffs and 4 District championships. He graduated from FHS in 1995 and returned there to coach after graduating from SHSU. He was defensive coordinator before being name AD/HFC in 2010.
