Traffic Violation Near Airport Rd

On Saturday February 25th, at 1:45am, Deputy Seth Nagel stopped a 2015 Toyota Camry on State Highway 71 Near Airport Rd for a Traffic Violation.
During the course of the investigation, Deputy Nagel asked the driver to step out of the vehicle so that he could conduct a probable cause search. Sgt. Ryan Meagher arrived to assist Nagel.
The Driver attempted to shut the door to the vehicle and drive away at which point Deputies pulled him from the vehicle and a brief struggle ensued as the vehicle began to roll across the lanes of traffic and into the center median.
Thankfully two vehicles stopped a safe distance away and blocked traffic as the deputies were attempting to arrest the subject in the middle of the highway. It was later discovered the vehicle was stolen out of Travis County and the driver was displaying a fictitious license plate.
Inside the vehicle, Deputies located several types of narcotics including cocaine, crack cocaine, prescription pills, and marijuana.
The driver, Sheriff Keith Korenek identified as Anthony Skipper, 29 of Katy, was arrested and transported back to the Dan R. Beck Justice center for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Evading Arrest/ Detention with a vehicle, Resisting Arrest/Search' Transport, Unauthorized use of a Motor Vehicle.
