Sheriff Keith Korenek reports on Tuesday afternoon around 4pm the Fayette County Sheriff's Office received several 911 calls reporting a major accident on St. Hwy 71 W/B just past Prairie Valley Rd. Fayette County EMS Units Medic 1, Medic 2, and EMS 3 were dispatched along with Department of Public Safety Troopers, Fayette County Deputies, and the LaGrange Fire Department. Occupants of the vehicles were transported to Hospitals in Smithville and Austin, and there was one reported fatality.
