In Columbus, Deputy Bailiffs at the Colorado County Courthouse attempted to place Michael White, 23, of Wharton, into custody for an outstanding warrant. After being informed about the warrant and his impending arrest, the suspect, White, decided to flee on foot. Immediately, a perimeter was set up to contain the suspect, where he went through several residential yards, stole a bike, and resisted arrest. Eventually, he was tased for his reckless behavior and taken into custody without further incident. White was medically cleared by Colorado County EMS and transported to the Colorado County Jail, where he was charged with Evading Arrest/Detention and Resisting Arrest. Area schools and daycares were immediately notified of the incident while it was taking place. The Colorado County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Columbus Police Department with the search and arrest of White.
