Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that several Deputies and local PD Officers were able to attend the Texas CIT Association conference this past week. The conference focuses on the intersection of mental health and the criminal justice system and brings together Peace Officers and Mental Health Professionals from across the state to network, share knowledge and ideas, and receive advanced training on mental health and crisis intervention. The conference covered a number of topics such as Threat Assessment, Community Policing, Leadership Courses, and dealing with mental health and stress issues for Officers themselves.
