In Shiner, The City Council has said "no" to a new Fire Station. Reportedly, Members of the Shiner Volunteer Fire Department has held meetings with architects and discussing a possible new building for the Department. In the end, reportedly, only 1 bid was submitted. This bid came from Noble General Contractors of Wimberly and El Paso. The Amount of the bid was $2.46 Million Dollars. When the issue came before the Shiner City Council, it was rejected.
