Arrest in Fraud Case

Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that on October 11th,2022 Deputy AJ Gonzales took reports in reference to fraudulent charges being made on a victim's bank account. Investigator Marc Bennett, with the Narcotics Investigators began to investigate the matter.

Investigation led to a search warrant being obtained for a residence in the West Point area, which was served October 12th,2022. As a result Authorities found approximately 5 lbs of stolen mail which contained identifying information, located within the residence. Investigators also found methamphetamines, a shotgun, and instruments involved in criminal activity.

Arrested at the scene was 43 year old Michelle Phillips of West Point, for Fradulent Use/Possession of Identifying Information, Unlawful Possession of Firearm by Felon, and Possession of Methamphetamines.

On Scene of the search warrent, Investigator Marc Bennett and the Narcotics Investigators were assisted by Sgt. Angela Lala, CIT Investigator Jeremy Castleberry, and Deputy Herman Olvera.
