Sheriff Keith Korenek reports on Wednesday afternoon around 12:29pm Drug Interdiction Investigator David Smith conducted a traffic stop on a 2018 GMC Acadia on I-10 West bound at the 661 MM for Traffic Violations. During contact with the driver many Criminal Indicators were observed. Consent to search the vehicle was refused, and Smith requested a Canine for assistance. After arrival of Guadalupe County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Dustin Crawford arrived and deployed his Canine "Eddie". The Canine immediately alerted to the vehicle for the presence of Narcotics. The driver then admitted to Smith he was delivering Marijuana to an unknown location in San Antonio. A probable cause search was conducted and Smith located a black trashbag in the rear cargo area of the SUV. The Black plastic trashbag contained 20 sealed bundles of High grade Hydro Marijuana. Taken into custody and transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center was 31 yr old Saul Nogueda Silva of Wichita, Kansas who was charged with Felony Possession of Marijuana.
