Recently in Schulenburg, Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 700 block N. Kessler Ave, for a traffic violation. The vehicle pulled into a parking spot at Pilot and the driver quickly exited the vehicle and ran into the store before being taken into custody by Officers. A probable cause search of the vehicle resulted in Officers and Deputies locating a stolen firearm, Xanax, THC Gummies, Marijuana, and $611 believed to be proceeds from the distribution of narcotics. The driver who fled, Malachi Jones (25), of LaGrange, was arrested for the following charges then transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center: Theft of a firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a felon, Possession of a controlled substance, evading arrest/detention w/ Previous Conviction, Possession of a controlled substance, Possession of Marijuana.
