On Sunday, August 27, Schulenburg Officers responded to the 100 block of N. Upton Ave. for a report of a Black Ford pickup striking the Vet Hospital's Fence and attempting to leave the area. Officers arrived and observed a vehicle matching the destruction turning east onto Bucek St, The vehicle came to a stop and contact was made with the driver and sole occupant who had blood on his clothing and face. The subject showed multiple signs of impairment when speaking with officers. After further investigation, Brett Vestal (33), of Schulenburg, was arrested for Driving while intoxicated then transported to St.Marks Medical Center to be seen for his injuries, once cleared he was transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center.
