Flatonia City Wide Cleanup schedule

The City of Flatonia has designated garbage on the usual scheduled pick-up day. October 5 - October 10, 2026 .
Limb Chipping
The City of Flatonia will offer utility customers within the city limits, 15 minutes of free limb chipping with the Fall Clean-up. Chipping in excess of 15 minutes will be billed to the customer at $25.00 for each additional 15 minutes or portion thereof.
Limb chipping begins at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, October 5. Limbs for chipping must be placed on the street behind the curb or edge of the pavement by 7:00 a.m. Limb chipping will NOT be all week, please have limbs out by Monday morning. Any limbs placed out after this deadline will be billed the normal $25 per 15 minutes of chipping. Limbs must be stacked neatly with the cut ends towards the street. Do not mix trash such as metal, wire, or lumber in the stack. Limbs six inches or smaller in diameter will be picked up. Please follow the limb-chipping guidelines provided by the city office. The crew will make two passes through town after which you will be charged at the normal rate noted above.
Solid Waste Collection
Please dispose of your regular household garbage on the usual scheduled pick-up day. Solid waste collection begins at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, October 5, 2026. Solid waste MUST BE BROUGHT to the collection site at the Wastewater Treatment Plant at 345 E. I-10 Frontage Road. Each City of Flatonia utility customer will be allowed to dispose of six (6) un-compacted yards of solid waste at no charge. Additional amounts of waste will be billed to your next utility bill at the rate of $15.00 per un-compacted yard. Commercial waste will not be accepted without prior written authorization. Be prepared to show your latest utility bill or receipt. Hazardous waste materials (chemicals, oils, paint, batteries, tires, etc.) will not be accepted.
