Scam calls and Reports

The Colorado County Sheriff’s Office has received multiple reports of scammers calling from various phone numbers and claiming to be deputies or investigators with the Colorado County Sheriff’s Office.
These scammers are telling victims they have a grand jury subpoena warrant and are demanding payment through Bitcoin, gift cards, or other forms of money.
If you receive a suspicious call, hang up and contact the Colorado County Sheriff’s Office directly at 979-732-2388.
Scammers can spoof local phone numbers, making it appear that the call is coming from a local number. If you believe something is a scam, trust your instincts and verify it directly with the Sheriff’s Office.
