Felony Arrest at Elgin High School

On Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at approximately 9:04 a.m., officers with the Elgin Police Department, executed a felony arrest warrant at Elgin High School.
43 year old Coach Jacob Donald Johns was taken into custody without incident on a warrant for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child. He was transported to the Bastrop County Jail.
There is no ongoing threat to students, staff, or the community. The arrest was conducted safely and without incident.
