Natural Gas Leak Testing in Columbus

The City of Columbus will be conducting natural gas leak detection testing throughout the community over the next few weeks.
During this process, residents may notice personnel wearing fluorescent safety shirts working in neighborhoods and near gas meters. Crews will be using laser technology to remotely read gas meters and detect possible leaks.
This technology allows technicians to identify gas leaks, or confirm that none are present, without having to physically approach each meter. This improves both safety and efficiency during the testing process.
