Two killed in House Fire in Lee County

On Sunday February 15, at approximately 6:25 a.m. the Lee County Sheriff's Office Communications Center received a report of a loud explosion and flames that could be seen in the 1100 block of County Road 219 in South Lee County.
Lee County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the scene and the South Lee County Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched. Upon arrival, deputies located a fully involved structure fire at a residence.
Deputies on scene reported that the residence was a total loss, and determined that two residents of the home were unaccounted for. Investigators with the Sheriff's Criminal Investigation Division responded to investigate.
Investigators with the State Fire Marshal's Office and Texas Rangers were summoned to aid in the fire investigation.
As a result of the investigative efforts, two deceased bodies were located within the charred remains of the residence.
The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.
