Vehicle Pursuit stopped in Fayette County

Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that, On the afternoon of Tuesday February 17th the Fayette County Sheriff's Office was advised of a pursuit of a vehicle stolen out of Austin entering Fayette County from Bastrop County on Highway 71.
Fayette County Investigators and patrol deputies responded to assist with the pursuit. They deployed Stop Stick tire deflation devices in the area of Plum on Highway 71 and successfully deflated tires on the suspect vehicle. The suspect vehicle proceeded on Highway 71 a short distance before losing control and crashing, stopping in the median.
The driver was taken into custody by Bastrop County.
