Fire in Columbus

On Wednesday 2/4 , the Columbus Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at the Hwy 71 Ranch.
On arrival, they found a 900–1,000 square foot ranch house on fire. Due to the remote location, mutual aid tankers were requested from Ellinger and Frelsburg Fire Departments.
Colorado County EMS Medic 5 arrived to provide support, along with the Colorado County Sheriff’s Office, which assisted with scene searches and the investigation.
Unfortunately, the ranch manager lost several pets in the fire. No other injuries were reported.
