Grass Fire put out in Muldoon

Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that last Thursday around 1:49pm in the afternoon Fayette County Dispatchers received a 911 call reporting smoke in the area of FM 2237 at Anchor Ranch Loop. The Muldoon Fire Department was notified and responded to the scene. Assistance was requested from the Flatonia Fire Department who also responded to the scene. Upon arrival a large grass fire had spread and caught a large wooden structure on fire. Deputy Wesly Arrison also responded to the scene and after the fire was extinguished it was determined that the occupant of the property was burning during a burn ban. A citation was issued for the burn ban violation. Approximately 10 acres burnt and a structure was damaged. Sheriff Korenek & County Judge Mueller remind the public that outdoor burning is prohibited.
