Sheriff Keith reports on Wednesday evening around 3:36pm, Deputy Cody Williams conducted a traffic stop on I-10 E/B near the 670 MM for a traffic violation on a 2022 Volkswagen Jetta. After contact with the driver and further Investigation, a consent to search was given to Deputy Williams. Assisting Williams at the scene was Drug Interdiction Investigator David Smith. A compartment was located containing 10 bundles of what field tested as Cocaine. Arrested at the scene and transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center were 40 yr. old Carla Gonzalez and 33 yr. old David Alberto Gonzalez, both of Laredo, Texas. They were charged with Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance.
