The La Grange Police Department would like to remind the public that per City Ordinance, it is illegal to discharge or possess fireworks within La Grange city limits. Additionally, discharging any gun, pistol or firearm within the city is strictly prohibited. Fireworks pose serious risks, including injuries, fires, and stress for veterans, children and pets. Celebratory gunfire and falling bullets are even more dangerous, with the potential to cause severe injury, loss of life and significant property damage. Not to mention the consequences of getting caught - which could result in a fine of up to $2,000 and a felony charge for gunfire! As you celebrate New Year's Eve, please prioritize safety and show consideration for those around you!
