Homicide Suspect captured

Recently, Bastrop County Sheriffs Office shared information of a wanted subject possibly in the Smithville or Bastrop area. The subject is identified as Severiano Valdonado, wanted for Homicide.
Karnes County Sheriff's Office Sheriff Steven Bailey reports that the murder suspect has been captured and is in custody. After an extensive search in which the KCSO Criminal Investigations Division was able to track the murder suspect, identified as Severiano Valdonado to Smithville, TX, throughout Bastrop County, TX, Fayette County, TX, and then to various homeless communities in Austin, TX, in early morning hours, members of the Texas Department of Public Safety-Bicycle Patrol Unit in and around the downtown Austin, TX area came across what appeared to be a homeless male, camping along the river and in violation of the "Austin Homeless Abatement" program.
Upon contacting this male, DPS Troopers were able to identify the male as Valdonado.
At that time, Valdonado attempted to flee and a foot pursuit ensued. DPS Troopers were eventually able to catch up to Valdonado where they apprehend him via the use of a taser.
Valdonado's capture was the result of a wide-ranging collaborative law enforcement effort by the KCSO, US Marshal's Service, Texas Department of Public Safety, Wilson County Sheriff's Office, Bastrop County Sheriff's Office, Fayette County Sheriff's Office, Smithville Police Department, Austin Police Department, and the US Department of Homeland Security.
