We were reminded this past Friday, why we are under a burn ban. Members of the Schulenburg Volunteer Fire Department were called to a Large Grass fire, South of Schulenburg at the Fayette/Lavaca County line. Due to the dry conditions, the fire spread quickly. Firemen from Hallettsville also responded. Fayette County Emergency Management Coordinator Angela Hahn also contacted the Texas Forest Service. The Flatonia Fire Department also responded. Around 25 acres of grass & trees were burned. This is a reminder that this part of Texas is under burn ban.
