Sheriff Keith Korenek reports recently, at approximately 12:44am, Deputy C. Williams was traveling westbound on the I-10 west exit ramp in Engle. Deputy Williams continued towards the stop sign at the intersection where he observed a white Porsche travelling southbound on FM 2238 slowing and nearly coming to a stop in the main lane of travel. Deputy Williams pulled in behind the vehicle and observed a paper tag on the vehicle that had expired and effected a traffic stop on the vehicle at the eastbound IH-10 entrance ramp near FM 2238. Deputy Williams made contact with the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, Michael Perez. Deputy Williams observed that Perez was displaying nervous behavior and observed rock debris in the back seat of the vehicle. Deputy Williams ran the Porsche and Perez through Fayette County Sheriff's Office Dispatch. Deputy Williams learned that Perez was wanted for Parole Violation resisting arrest and Parole Violation evading arrest with a vehicle. Deputy Williams additionally learned that the Porsche that Perez was operating was stolen. Deputy Williams took Perez into custody for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Deputy Williams turned Perez over to Deputy N. Geer #828 and Deputy M. Pritchard #831. Deputy Geer and Pritchard transported the male to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center in LaGrange.
