Scam Alert

Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek is reporting that the Sheriff's Office is once again receiving several scam reports that someone is calling citizens of Fayette County and claiming to be from the Sheriff’s Office and stating that the person has warrants for their arrest for missed jury duty or unpaid tickets.
These calls appear to come from the Sheriff Office’s actual phone number. These scammers have the ability to clone phone numbers. They are using actual names of Fayette County Sheriff’s Office employees as well.
Please note this is not a normal practice and they WILL NOT notify anyone via phone about warrants or to collect any fees.
