Grass Fires in Fayette County

Sheriff Keith Korenek reports on Wednesday afternoon around 03:32pm the Fayette County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call reporting a grass fire on US Hwy 77 north near the Lee County Line. The LaGrange Fire Department was notified and responded to the scene along with Deputy TY Roggenkamp. Upon arrival the fire had spread from a control burn and was quickly contained and extinguished.
Sheriff Korenek also reports another 911 call around 05:40pm on Waldeck Cemetery Rd near Albers Rd. reporting hay bales and hay pasture fire. The Round Top-Warrenton Fire Department was notified and responded along with Deputy Jason Fowler and Sgt. Ben Wilson. The fire was contained and extinguished. It was believed to have started from a Hay Baler.
