Lone Finalist Chosen for Smithville Superintendent

The Smithville Independent School District Board of Trustees called a special meeting recently to vote to unanimously approve the appointment of Dr. Molley Perry as Superintendent of Smithville ISD. Her first day with the District will be June 3, following the retirement of current Superintendent Cheryl Burns.
The Board followed a lengthy process to reach this final decision. In February they engaged the Texas Association of School Boards to direct the search. Five applicants were selected by the Board of Trustees for an initial interview and then three applicants were invited back for a second interview. Dr. Perry was chosen as the Lone Finalist.
