The Bastrop County Sheriff's Office is aware that citizens in the county have been receiving calls from a male subject claiming to be Deputy Luke Werner with the Bastrop County Sheriff's Office and has also provided other law enforcement official's names with various agencies. The male subject has been advising the people who receive the calls that they have warrants and/or have not appeared for court, while providing false warrant numbers and/or court documents. The caller further has instructed the persons who receive the calls to go to 200 Jackson Street to turn themselves in. At this time there has been no legitimacy of any of the alleged information from the caller. This case is currently being investigated. Please be advised that if you have contact with this individual to not provide any nor confirm any personal identification and to contact the Bastrop County Sheriff's Office immediately.
