In Giddings, Sentences were recently handed down. 39 year old Jordy Lee Basey of Ledbetter was sentenced to 7 years in prison for possession of a controlled substance. 47 year old Desmond Bias of Ledbetter was fined $1000 and placed on 10 years probation for possession of a controlled substance. 23 year old Akyrra Chevonne Page of Giddings was fined $500 and ordered to pay $425 in restitution for fighting in a public place. 31 year old Josh Heath of Ledbetter was sentenced to 8 years in prison for driving while intoxicated, 3rd offense. District Judge Carson Cambell presided over these cases at the Lee County Courthouse in Giddings.
