Elgin Man to face sentence of up to 99 years

An Elgin Man with Lee County connections and a criminal past has been found guilty of Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. Robert Lee Shelby, 40, faces a sentence of up to 99 years or life in prison. According to a statement released by County Attorney Martin Placke, a Lee County jury convicted Shelby in a trial. Judge John Winkelmann of Brenham presided.
Captain Jordan Mastronardi of the Lee County Sheriff's Office served as the lead investigator on the case. Shelby has an extensive list of crimes.
