Last Friday Evening, at 5pm, city of Bastrop Police Officers were dispatched to the 100 Block of SH 71 East in reference to an Auto Pedestrian Crash. Several Bastrop Police Officers arrived on scene with mutual aid received from Bastrop County Sheriff's department and Bastrop Fire Department. A preliminary investigation indicates an adult male, was attempting to cross the Eastbound main lanes of traffic when he was struck by a vehicle. CPR was performed on the male, who succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the vehicle sustained no reported injuries. No other injuries or damages were occurred.
