Sunday, Columbus Police Department responded to the 1600 block of Fannin St in reference to a gunshot victim. After further investigation it was determined that a suspect fired multiple shots at a male victim. The Victim was taken to the Columbus Community Hospital, but he later succumbed to his wounds. The victim was identified as Keandre M. Hurd, 26 of Columbus. During the course of the investigation the identity of the suspect was confirmed. A warrant was obtained for Nijay Johnson, 21 of Columbus, for Murder. Johnson turned himself in to the Columbus Police Department later that evening and he was taken to the Colorado County Detention Center, where he was charged with Murder.
