Traffic Stop on Bending Rd

On Friday September 20th, 2024 at approximately 10:40 pm, Sgt. Ryan Meagher conducted a traffic stop on a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe in the 100 block of Bending Road for an equipment violation.
Probable cause was established and a vehicle search was conducted. As a result of the search, methamphetamine was located in the vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle was also found to have an active warrant out of Fayette County for Violation of a Protective Order.
The driver identified as Matthew Ellis (40) of La Grange, Texas was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Violation of Bond/Protective Order.
