Sheriff Keith Korenek reports on Monday afternoon around 1:40pm Fayette County dispatch office received a 911 call reporting a grass fire on Bar Ranch Rd. west of Elm Creek Rd. The Muldoon Fire Department was notified and responded to the scene along with Deputy Terry Guentert. Upon Arrival Muldoon Fire Department requested Mutual Aid from the Texas Forest Service, Waelder and Flatonia Fire Departments. Fayette County EMS Unit Medic 3 and EMS 3 also responded to the fire. The fire consumed approximately 25 acres which was extinguished and there were no reported structures lost or injuries. The cause of the fire was from a possible brush pile.
