Recently, the Fayette County Sheriff's Office narcotics unit located a wanted subject walking in the area of the Highway 71 bypass at the FM 609 exit. Upon making contact the subject fled on foot but was intercepted by members of the criminal investigations unit. The subject attempted to act as though he was armed and provoked Investigators to fire on him before attempting to flee towards a tree line. Investigators were able to close distance with the subject and take him into custody without further incident. The suspect, Andrew Rivera, of LaGrange was arrested on an out of County Warrant for Possession of a Controlled substance and was charged with evading arrest.
