Vehicle Burglar Arrested in Fayette County
Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that recently at approximately 3:57am, Deputy Fowler was dispatched to US HWY 77 in the Warda area in reference to a suspicious person that was banging on the door at a residence.Upon arrival, Deputy Fowler met with the homeowners, who advised that a man was detected outside their residence on their ring camera, but the man was no longer on the scene. Upon further investigation, Deputy Fowler observed that the rear glass of the homeowner’s vehicle had been broken and other items had been removed from the vehicle and were spread throughout the property. Fowler observed blood on numerous napkins and on the area surrounding the vehicle.
Deputies remained in the area vigilantly looking for the suspect. At approximately 4:20AM dispatch received a call advising that a white male fitting the suspect description had been located at the Energy Transfer plant.
Fowler arrived and the suspect, later identified as Jonathan Lee Ritchie, 22 years of age of Katy, was taken into custody, after being cleared by Fayette County Emergency Medical Services. Ritchie had items in his possession that were stolen out of the vehicle at the homeowner’s residence. Ritchie was arrested and charged with Burglary of a Vehicle. Further charges are pending at this time.
