Fayette County Deputy locates Narcotics during a Traffic Stop

Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that on Wednesday, June 26th, Deputy C. Williams was on routine patrol in or about the 664-mile marker area of I-10 in Flatonia, when he observed a silver Volvo commit a traffic violation. Deputy Williams effected a traffic stop on the vehicle in or about the area of the 664-mile marker. Deputy Williams made contact with the driver, Deion Devon Johnson, front seat passenger Romayle Terrell McKay, and Bobby Ray Knocks. While speaking with all subjects, Deputy Williams asked Deion if he threw drugs from the vehicle because it appeared that something may have flown from the vehicle when the vehicle was coming to a stop. All subjects denied this occurring. However, Deputy Williams additionally alerted to the odor of marijuana. Deputy Williams observed something in a clear plastic baggie hidden behind McKay and requested that he show what it was. McKay handed the bag to Deputy Williams, and Deputy Williams observed what he knows to be crack cocaine in the baggie. The Subjects were detained.
