Traffic Stop in the West Point Area

On the afternoon of Saturday May 18th Deputy Joe Gonzales conducted a traffic stop on Highway 71 in the West Point area for a speeding offense. While on the stop Deputy Gonzales noted a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and after further investigation the subjects were found to be in possession of Marijuana, 2 vials of a powder substance that tested positive for the presence of cocaine, 2 bottles containing prescription medications with the labels removed, as well as a loaded 9mm handgun.
Arrested and transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center was Amanda Messinger, age 22, of Seguin Tx.
