Scam Calls in Fayette County

Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek is reporting that he has received several calls where persons are complaining that a Sergeant from the Fayette County Sheriff's Office is calling them that they have warrants or that they need to submit a DNA Sample and that they need to send green dot cards to pay to have this taken care of or they will be arrested.
Sheriff says, no one from the Sheriff's Office will ever call you asking for money over the phone, nor will they call to let you know you have warrants. The scammers are reportedly using real names of Deputies. They are asking the persons to not hang up on them and are using scare tactics to their advantage. Do not fall victim to these scams.
