Chloride Spill in Ellinger

An 18 wheeler carrying chloride over turned last night along Highway 71 near Ellinger. Because the tanker was carrying that type of load, extra precautions had to be taken. Hazmat Crews were called in and responded. The Fire Departments from Ellinger, Fayetteville and LaGramhe responded in and stayed at the scene for most of the night. DSP Trooper, Deputies with the Fayette County Sheriff's Department and Commissioner Luke Sternadel worked the scene. The west bound lane of 71 was blocked, much of the Traffic was re-routed along farm to market road 955.
