Public Intoxication Arrest in Schulenburg

On Monday, March 25, at approximately 2:43 am, Officers responded to IH-10 WB for a report of a reckless driver coming in from Colorado County.
Contact was made with caller who couldn’t describe the vehicle, but advised he observed it exit in Schulenburg. Officers checked the area and located a vehicle parked.
Officers observed an open container in the cup holder then made contact with a subject asleep in the vehicle. Multiple signs of impairment were observed.
Due to the witness not being able to positively identify the vehicle and the vehicle being parked at the time, Driving While Intoxicated was not an option.
The occupant did obviously have access to a motor vehicle, showed multiple signs of impairment, had no sober party to be released to, and would have been a danger to himself and others had he been left alone.
Omar Vazquez Oliveros (30), of New Braunfels, was arrested for Public Intoxication then transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center for booking.
