Residents will be required to present a current utility stub (September 30th bill) and will be limited to one pickup load or one low boy trailer load for each residence.
Items that will be accepted from city residents at no charge include appliances, such as stoves and water heaters; mattresses, chairs and other furniture; Televisions, lawn mowers and general trash and refuse.
Items that cannot be accepted include tree limbs, tree stubs, microwaves, tires, batteries, paint, concrete, tile, and any hazardous material and/or liquids. Freezers, refrigerators, and air conditioners will be accepted at no charge provided a certificate is presented from a dealer or certified technician that refrigerant has been properly removed.
Mayor Milton Koller urges neighbors with pickups to help neighbors who may not have pickups to use in disposing of trash. He also added that with the free trash disposal day coming up, it is now a good time for all residents and businesses to clean up their properties.
