Last Monday, on September 18th near Giddings, a child was bitten by a skunk. Deputies with the Lee County Sheriff's Department responded and help to transport the child to the Lee County Emergency Medical Services for treatment. The Child is doing well. The skunk was put down at the scene and then transported to be tested for rabies. Last Thursday, it was revealed that the skunk tested positive for rabies. We remind you to be careful of animals in the wild.
