Narcotics Arrest in LaGrange
Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that on September 16th, Deputy James Ulbig was dispatched to a residence on Old Plum HWY regarding USPS locating narcotics in a mailbox. Upon Deputy Ulbig's arrival, the narcotics had been removed.In an attempt to follow up on this case, Ulbig tried to speak with a subject outside of the residence, who had mail in his hands. Deputy Ulbig could smell the odor of marijuana coming from the person. Upon this contact, the subject attempted to flee and resisted from Deputy Ulbig. The subject was able to run into a residence on the property.
Deputies Jared Michalec, Terry Guentert, and the Fayette County Narcotics Unit arrived on scene to assist. The subject eventually came outside from the residence. Upon further investigation, the subject admitted to having narcotics in his vehicle and ultimately handed over narcotics to the Deputies. A further search of the vehicle rendered other narcotics and paraphernalia being located.
Keaton Sullivan, age 20 of LaGrange, was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana, Evading Arrest/Detention, and Resisting Arrest/Transport and was transported to the Dan R Beck Justice Center without incident.
