Traffic Stop in Schulenburg

On Wednesday, September 13th at approximately 7:55am, Officers observed a vehicle speeding through an active school zone in the 1000 block of Kessler Ave, in Schulenburg. Officers caught up with the vehicle and conducted a stop in the 600 block of Herder Ave. While speaking with the driver probable cause was developed to search the vehicle.
The search yielded approximately 12 grams of psilocybin mushrooms in a duffle bag.
The driver, Richard Wooten (40), of Houston, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance then transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center for Booking.
